Earlier today, the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) issued the Subjective Estimate for the 2018 California Almond Crop at 2.30 billion lbs.
Forecasted bearing acreage for the 2018 crop is 1,070,000 acres.
Forecasted yield for the 2018 Crop is down 5.3% from the projected final 2017 yield of 2,270 lbs per acre.
The 2.3 billion lb estimate is slightly below the midpoint of the range of current industry expectations.
Last year, the Subjective Estimate was within 3% of the actual 2017 crop.
